1. Tuna by Martin Gimenez Castro
Right on the banks of the Vistula, you’ll find Tuna – the latest venture from acclaimed chef Martin Jimenez Castro. Having earned recognition from the Michelin Guide in 2024, this place brings something fresh to the seafood scene.
Their “nose-to-tail” philosophy isn’t just marketing talk. The chef works magic with every part of the fish, putting creative spins on classic dishes. The bluefin tuna tartare is mind-blowingly pure in flavor – one of those dishes you’ll be thinking about weeks later. Their signature “chili con tuna” is so cleverly done, you might mistake it for the traditional meat version.
The menu takes you on a journey across the world’s oceans, from tropical waters to the Arctic seas. The yellowtail sashimi is a standout – some guests swear it’s the best thing they’ve ever eaten. Whether it’s corvina or other catches of the day, everything’s handled with real respect for the ingredients.
They take sustainable fishing seriously here, partnering only with responsible suppliers. It’s not just talk – they’re genuinely committed to protecting our oceans for future generations.
The wine cellar, managed by a knowledgeable sommelier, houses a thoughtfully selected collection. Their Barolo is a real gem that pairs beautifully with the seafood.
The servers really know their stuff, happy to tell you all about where each ingredient comes from and how it’s prepared. You’ll find them right by Centrum Nauki Kopernik metro station – super convenient to get to, though be prepared for fine dining prices.
2. Czarnomorka
Your first bite of oysters at Czarnomorka tells you everything – this place knows its seafood. They’ve got an impressive lineup of 9 different fresh oysters, with the Irish Supreme being particularly spectacular.
The summer terrace on Nowy Świat feels just like a seaside café: surrounded by greenery, perfect for relaxed chats over seafood and bubbles. Beyond oysters, don’t miss their smoked mackerel and perfectly crispy fried fish.
They run weekday specials on certain items that make things a bit more wallet-friendly, though seafood prices still sit on the higher end.
Just a heads up: it gets packed in the evenings and you might need to wait a while. Czarnomorka is a solid mid-range chain that works just as well for date night as it does for splitting a dozen oysters with friends over some sparkling wine.
3. Seafood Station
Seafood Station brings in the freshest catches straight from coasts worldwide. No wonder it’s made Forbes’ Top 30 Polish restaurants list two years running.
I was blown away by the incredibly tender lobster, which our waiter expertly prepared right at the table. Their menu has everything from classic Rockefeller oysters to spot-on British fish & chips, each paired with the perfect wine. The Thai seafood soup with coconut milk is packed with seafood, and the octopus is so tender it literally melts in your mouth.
It’s not cheap, but every zloty is worth it. Special shoutout to the staff – they really make dinner feel like a culinary adventure.
4. Reina Steakhouse
At Reina Steakhouse, the seafood is incredibly fresh thanks to daily deliveries from across the globe. Their scallops with pineapple and soy sauce were a total game-changer for me!
The menu’s got an amazing range of seafood, from silky tuna tartare to perfectly grilled octopus. There’s about 100 wines to choose from, all picked to match the seafood perfectly. The bar whips up some creative cocktails that really complement the food.
5. Der Elefant
Der Elefant’s Fish and Oyster Bar does a great salmon tartare and sea scallops, plus tuna steaks and grilled swordfish on their main menu. Their signature fish soup comes with a rich broth and chunky pieces of fish, served with two sauces – aioli and seafood mayo.
For dessert, don’t miss their claim to fame – a light-as-air pavlova topped with forest berries.
6. Seafarmers
At Seafarmers, start with their signature oysters – they’re always perfectly fresh. Want something with a kick? Try their oyster shots with Bloody Mary. The shrimp and lobster sandwiches come loaded with filling between bread that’s got just the right crisp-to-soft ratio.
You’ll also find rolls stuffed with octopus, scallops, and snails, plus their house chowder. They get their oysters straight from the Netherlands, so you know they’re top-notch and fresh.
